Summary
In Chapter 4: "My Desire to Become Special Isn’t Special at All," Sehee begins her next therapy sessions by revealing that she has made a new friend. Sehee speculates on why she usually has trouble making and maintaining friendships, partially because she does not think she deserves to have any close friendships. The psychiatrist suggests that Sehee not think of her friendships in such a transactional manner. Sehee talks about how she and her new friend were able to bond over neither of them feeling special, and how they agreed to keep in contact to maintain the friendship.
