Nature
The primary setting of the poem is the natural world. This wilderness scene is characterized by its idyllic qualities. It is composed of rolling vales and hills, a lake, trees, a bay, and of course the immense field of daffodils. While the speaker does describe the night sky in the second stanza, it is implied that the events of the poem mostly take place during the day, as evidenced by the “sparkling waves” and the vivid descriptions of color and physical features of the landscape (14).
