Summary
In "Loafing Along Death Valley Trails," Claire boards a flight from Reno to Vegas. When she gets to the Vegas airport, her flight is canceled. She buys a book and a pair of Uggs, and gets drunk. She does not want to be stuck in Vegas, but decides to use the time to see if there is a place for her somewhere in the world (228).
Claire drives around Vegas. She goes to a soaking pool. She reflects on the way time disappears in the desert.
