Summary

Chris and Sylvère continue to write to Dick. Sylvère prepares to leave for France and writes about Chris traveling to go and be with Dick. He anticipates what Chris will do and possible scenarios. He has some doubts about Chris going to see Dick, but thinks Chris should do it anyway. When Chris writes to Dick she admits that she is not sure she still wants “to fuck you” (75). Chris views Dick partially through Sylvère’s gaze and now she wants to defer to Dick. She also wonders whether Sylvère is only capable of feeling close to her when someone might take her away.
