Summary

In Chapter 16, Chloe drives to the marina and finds Shara on the sailboat, wearing her prom dress with bumblebee socks and her hair in a ponytail. Shara admits that she wanted to make Chloe obsessed with her so that she would lose valedictorian. Chloe asks her why she would do that, and Shara says that she got rejected from Harvard after blowing her interview. Shara included Smith and Rory in her scheme because she knew they were in love with one another, and she wanted to give them the opportunity to realize it. However, Chloe refuses to believe that Shara does not like her. She seduces her into a kiss. Then, just as Shara leans in, Chloe pushes her into Lake Martin.
