Bodie Kane
The narrator and protagonist of I Have Some Questions for You is Bodie Kane, a successful podcast host and occasional film professor who lives primarily in Los Angeles. Bodie grew up in Indiana; when she was a child, her brother, Ace, accidentally killed their father after pushing him off a deck. Several years later, Ace “either jumped off the roof of a shoe store or fell off” (42-43). After Bodie’s mother was hospitalized for depression, a Mormon family—the Robesons—raised Bodie and eventually paid for her tuition at the Granby School, a boarding school in New Hampshire. Bodie’s time at Granby was largely unhappy. She felt alienated from the wealthy, privileged student body.
