Summary
Simon has sent Cassandra a new blue and gold leather bound book and a fountain pen to go with it. Rose and Topaz have gone to stay with Mrs. Cotton for awhile in London to buy Rose's trousseau. Cassandra receives a letter from Neil telling her that the London flat is so crowded now that he is staying in a hotel. He also wants to return to America to get a partnership on a ranch in a California desert. Cassandra also receives a letter from Rose telling her that she is to have a beautiful bridesmaid dress and that she will buy her so many more clothes after she is married.
