Shady Bluff is the summer house along the lake that Margaret’s parents own. It is where Jack takes Margaret the night of the murder. Jack poisons Margaret and buries her under the floorboards.

The Victorian House

The Victorian House along the lake belongs to the VanLandingham family. It is where Margaret remembers being when Margaret’s parents and Jack’s parents meet to discuss what they are going to do about Margaret’s pregnancy. It is where Jack’s father tries to pay off Margaret’s family to keep their silence.

Marshall Summer Naval Camp

Marshall Summer Naval Camp is the primary location in the novel. It is located on a large lake. Margaret, Flor, Nisreen, and Rose all attend camp there and have since they were young girls. It is where the girls become friends and learn to sail.
