Chapter 13:

Not long after Vee is released from the hospital, she and Nora go to The Borderline to eat dinner and to launch a plan to spy on Patch. It is Patch's night off, so it is assumed that it would be safe to make the trip. "After nearly an hour of begging, Vee and I had convinced her parents that we needed to celebrate her first night out of the hospital over chiles rellenos and virgin strawberry daiquiris.
