Summary

The third section is titled "Hurricane." In Chapter 20, Wayne drives Tilla and Mia back to the country early the next morning. Mia cries and Tilla worries about their relationship. Tilla notes Herma's bedroom is very clean. Herma confronts them, saying the room was “disgusting” after they left and she expects them to keep it clean now. When they are alone, Tilla apologizes to Mia. She makes it clear she thinks Tilla is selfish and did not consider that Mia wanted to stay with Tyson. Mia says Tyson was bound to react as he did because he is easily overwhelmed. She also makes it clear she forgives Tilla. Mia is enjoying her time in Jamaica and Tilla realizes she has been selfish. She knows that everyone here loves Mia despite how they act toward Tilla, and says she should not deprive her of that...
