Summary
n Chapter 10, Tilla talks to Marie on the phone. She knows Marie cannot afford to change the tickets for the girls to come home early. So, she hides how upset she is. Hessan wakes Tilla before dawn the next morning. They talk outside. He says that he is amazed by her braveness as she faces this culture. His comment is strange to her.
