Summary

Chapter 33 is titled “Welcome to the Leisure Dome.” It returns to French's perspective. He hears the women talking as his box is tipped over. He can hear Wab cursing and Miig trying to reason with them until one woman says they are trying to save their children. She says the Native Americans are “hoarders, keeping all the dreams for yourself” (323). Someone injects French and he passes out. French initially thinks he is back at the school. It is not a terrible feeling, but it is devoid of hope. When he gathers his senses, he finds he is in a room with Rania, Miig, Isaac, Slopper, Chi Boy, Zheegwon, and Tree. Wab is in a cage that resembles a kennel. They are all chained. French notes a sign that reads, “Welcome to the Leisure Dome.” They are amazed that there is a pool nearby...
