Jane's home
Throughout the novel, Jane has a complicated relationship with her family and life and home and struggles to fully grasp its importance. In the early parts of the novel, Jane saw her home as a safe haven away from the stress of her work and everyday life. Her husband would make her food and her daughter, although filled with teen angst, was a settling thought. However, as the novel progressed, Jane found herself wanting to think of her home less and less. When attending the conference as a cover to talk to Fusk, Jane ignores texts from her daughter and husband, commented that it "kept reminding me of home" it was something she "didn't quite want to see" (76).
