Importance: The narrator never provides the true names of the characters Jane cares about, and while it is mostly a reflection of her distrust from working in cybersecurity, it can also be seen as an action of endearment. Generally, Jane lacks compassion towards her family, and although this might be representative of her true character, her desire to keep them nameless shows she does want to protect them, despite what her actions might say. Her years in cybersecurity have shown her what damage people can do with information they do not need to know.
It was hard to think of Silvina as "terrorist" or "murderer" compared to the people she'd been fighting.
