Summary
Hi`i begins to tell people that she has been having secret meetings with her grandmother, Hulali. Most of the community dismisses these claims, as they know that Hulali has been in O`ahu working with the PKO (Protect Kaho`olawe Ohana) to institute Hawaiian control over land.
When Hi`i comes home after her fight with Leilani, she discovers that Laka is pregnant. That evening, Hi`i dances a particularly impressive hula and receives praise for it from Kumu. While helping care for Laka, Hi`i bakes a loaf of bread to give as an offering during her class trip to the Waipi`o Valley, but is alarmed when she comes home the night before the trip and discovers that Tony has eaten it.
