The unnamed narrator heads to Egypt, suffering from depression and anxiety. He travels to Egypt even though his government doesn't advise traveling to the region. Despite his depression, the man seems to live a full life -he has friends and has people who work under him. On Tuesday, the visiting narrator heads to the pyramids, where meets a local man named Hesham, who offers to take the narrator to the Red Pyramid. The narrator agrees to go, although he is unsure whether Hesham intends to kill him or rob him.
