The Family Car

Georgina's family car has become her family's home. They sleep in it, keep all their belongings in it, and use it for transportation. This car is a symbol of her family's problems. It is a reminder that they have nothing because Georgina's father walked out on the family. It also symbolizes a change in Georgina's friendships because she cannot invite friends over to play after school since they are living in the car.

Despite being a constant reminder of all the security they've lost, the family car remains the family's only tangible asset. While it is not the best circumstance, the family car does provide shelter for the family which is more than Mookie has done.
