Summary
In Chapter 21, Mark explained that he had thought BU was the place he needed to be when he was first there. Then, after a while, BU left him feeling uninspired. Mark stopped going to class and encountered some street performers who inspired him. He asked the tall man who appeared to be in charge if he could work for them. The man, Richard, gave him the address and said they would see if it would work out.
At the house the following day, Mark helped Richard, Clark, and Sadie make penis-shaped missiles for an antiwar march. Mark participated in the march and won his spot in the group. At the time he was proud of what he and his group were trying to do. In retrospect, he wished that he had never met them because the puppets ruined his life.
