Chapter 15, “Reading Internet Sources” discusses the newest medium of nonfiction, internet content. Foster returns again and again to the line, “In cyberspace, no one can hear you lie” (247) in order to highlight that the sheer volume of writing on the internet which claims to be nonfiction is cause for concern and necessitates a lot of verification, since even one lie hidden in that content can be detrimental to readers’ trust in what they read. His advice to readers is thus to “Act like an editor” (248) when reading on the internet, which is to say take the time to thoroughly investigate writing on the internet claiming to be true.
