Summary

In “The School Bus Driver” (107), a school bus driver named Jai (“rhymes with chai” (115)) looked at pictures of his wife in a bikini on vacation in Laos with another man, her boss Frank. Jai and his wife lived in a brick house behind a shopping mall and she worked at a coffee shop. When they had trouble paying their bills, Jai's wife came home with extra money, claiming Frank gave her a “bonus” (111). After Jai's wife and Frank returned from Laos, Frank began picking her up and driving her to work every day. Once, he came over to the house and disappeared with Jai's wife into the bedroom. Jai was nervous about all of this, but unsure how to voice his concerns. When he finally spoke up, his wife said these sorts of friendships were normal in the country...
