Book 3, Chapter 17 Summary
Jenna writes in her diary that she has moved to Boulder City and ran into an old friend. Her friend gave her a pair of toe shoes so that she could take toe lessons. She then writes that she feels safer with her dad at home, but that he does not get home until late.

The insecurity of the little girl is showing through. She is excited about the idea of taking toe lessons, but the reader knows that she is insecure and unsure of things for now and in the future.
