Haven's father returns from his honeymoon and resumes their weekly Thursday night dinners. He manages in between people stopping to introduce themselves or to chat with the well recognized sportscaster, to ask about her sister, and suggest that she spend some time getting to know Lorna before another interruption. While her father is talking, a server approaches with an offer of pepper. Haven refuses at first, but when he insists, she looks up and sees it is Sumner. Surprised, she hardly knows what to say. He grins, offering cheese next and chatting briefly with her. Later, looking for the bathroom, she sees him counting tips and he calls her over.
