Summary
In Chapter 8, Mira reflects on the start of her relationship with Peter. Mira calls her younger self a whore. She used to go to bars in the hopes of attracting men’s attention in order to secure a boyfriend or husband. One night, she met Peter. He fell in love with her and left his wife for her. Together, they moved back to London. After “the affair,” they moved back to Barbados into Peter’s vacation villa. The kids seemed happy to be there (58).
