Summary
Chapter One follows Audrey Villeneuve as she drives home from work. She is fixated by a fear that the Ville-Marie Tunnel will collapse on her car as she drives through it. After she finally makes it through the tunnel, she takes the exit to the Champlain Bridge. It's not her usual route, but she drives that way without even knowing why.
In Chapter Two, Constance Pineault and Ruth sit together on a bench as children play hockey. Ruth tries to coach them.
