Summary
Lisette helps Cara apply for an in-home daycare with the Office of Children and Family Services (118).
In “Session Eight,” Lissette has “a glass of water ready for [Cara]” (122). Although Cara needs work, she does not think “taking care of children” in her apartment “is a good idea” (122). She often cares for her neighbors’ children and wants to work from home, but fears getting “in trouble with the authorities” or upsetting her neighbors (122). She is particularly worried about Lulú, who is still worrying over Adonis. Lulú was always too soft with him. Cara is stricter with children, and fears disciplining those who “are not [her] blood” (125).
