Chapter Six: Planned Chaos Summary
In chapter six, Maggie wears a kimono to school. She is uncomfortable and struggling to breathe. Students are detained in their homeroom classes for standardized testing and Maggie breezes through the test and then struggles to get comfortable as she is reading a paperback. She notices that day that people are wearing galoshes and jumpsuits that are eerily similar to the jumpsuits that she has worn the past few days.
She is called into the principal's office to discuss her wardrobe and Les and Rosie are called in as well. The principal feels that Maggie is dressing intentionally distracting and is angry that the other students are now starting to copy her.
