Summary
In Chapter 4, Pahom is very happy with his new farm. It is significant larger and more productive than his previous farm. However, after about a year, he once again feels that he needs more land. Pahom rents an additional area of land to grow more crops, but the land is ten miles from his farm, making it somewhat inconvenient. Also, land leases only last one year, so he has to find a new area to lease each year. For the following three years, he continues in his routine and saves up his profits. Pahom then searches for a new area of land that is large and is all in one piece, so that he can have a large area of land that is all together.
