Point of View
The stories in this collection are told primarily in the third person limited point-of-view. Third person limited is a highly effective POV in which the narrator only knows the thoughts and feelings of one character. It allows the reader to immerse oneself entirely through the experiential descriptions, thoughts, and feelings that are woven into the narrative. It is especially useful in science fiction, when the reader finds themselves immersed in strange new worlds and alien landscapes. The author uses a close third-person perspective to keep readers emotionally engaged and physically grounded in the various stories, so that the strange does not overwhelm the familiar.
