Summary
"The Narcomancer" takes place in the land of Gujaareh, where people pray to the Goddess of Dreams. Cet is one of the Temple's Gatherers. This means he is a servant of peace, justice, and the Goddess of Dreams. He is a healer, only instead of examining bodies he examines souls, and breaks the tether to the body if he feels it is time. He gently spills their "dreamblood" (298), sending them from the "waking realm" to the "land of dreams" (298). He has dedicated his life to the Goddess. Cet is assigned by his Superior to go with the group and find a group of brigands, who are using a sleeping spell to steal from the innocent village folk.
