Belinda
Belinda is a 17-year-old hougsegirl from Adurubaa, Ghana. She lives with her mother until her father, whom she has never met, stops paying for her school fees. After she is no longer able to go to school, her mother finds an advertisement for a job in Daban, Kumasi as a housegirl. There, Belinda works alongside a younger girl named Mary for Aunty and Uncle Asare, a wealthy retired Ghanaian couple who had careers in London.
Then, when Nana and Doctor Otuo come to visit, Belinda is relocated to London, where she is to help Amma Otuo, a troubled teenager. Once there, she faces an unfamiliar world, and grapples with the differences between Ghanaian and English society. All the while, she is tasked with befriending and influencing Amma, but this proves to be more difficult than she expects.
While in London, Belinda encounters obstacles put up by Amma's attitude...
