Summary

Part III: The Pit starts with Ruhn in Chapter 48. They have not found anything about Sofie's marks and the Hind has not told on them. Bryce wonders if Danika knew Sofie's intel and how it would be war ending. Suddenly, Baxian arrives and demands they let him join as a rebel sympathizer. They refuse and Baxian says he has answers when they are willing to listen. He and Ruhn leave, and Hunt asks Bryce why she sent Emile to the Viper Queen.

Chapter 49 continues at Ruhn's house where Flynn reveals Ariadne and the fire sprites.

Meanwhile, Bryce admits that the Viper Queen's henchmen were the one killing those who helped Emile. Bryce had not wanted that, but took Hunt to the viper Queen and Emile. He says he knew Sofie was dead and Hunt realizes that Bryce was the only one...
