Summary

In Chapter 43, the group reaches Ydra, part of the Coronal Islands. Cormac learns that Command gave Pippa the mechs and leadership of the Valbaran front. Pippa meets them at the mech and accuses Cormac of trying to turn Command against her. He argues she only wants Emile as a weapon. Pippa says her people are not responsible for those killed for information on Emile. Hunt explains that the mechs are made like the power dampening gorsian stones. The Asteri were researching how to absorb magic, not suppress it, and predict the suits can draw firstlight from the ground itself. Pippa exclaims that they can use it to show the Vanir how humans have suffered, but Hunt says they should all be destroyed. Pippa announces that she no longer calls for Emile.

Then, she orders Lightfall to kill the Vanir crew on...
