Summary

Chapter 31 shifts to Ruhn and Ithan in a bar to establish an alibi after Mordoc found them. Ruhn warns Ithan to go along with the conversation and asks if Ithan would like to move in with him. Ithan is surprised, but agrees to think about it as the Hind and Harpy sit down uninvited.

Meanwhile, Hunt fights two demons who collapse into one after he hits them with lightning. Suddenly, the creature chases Bryce as Reapers chant at the Dead Gate to siphon her power. She grabs the Starsword as Hunt throws himself between her and the demons. As he releases powerful blue lightning, Bryce puts the Starsword in front of it.

In Chapter 32, Bryce uses the lightning to kill a demon, but Hunt is thrown into the Dead Gate. Wondering if he can channel power like a thunderbird, Hunt draws...
