Summary
Chapters 33 and 34 see Cassius and Annaleigh transport to Silas’ home using Cassius’ magic abilities. They find him dead in his bed. As they next go to Old Maude and climb to the top with kerosene to light her, Cassius points out a form on the ground: at the top of the lighthouse, Fisher’s body is decomposing after what looks like weeks of being dead. Though this does not make sense, Annaleigh becomes hysterical. Fisher’s body begins to contort and explodes, revealing another figure: the Weeping Woman.
Cassius knows her, calling her ‘Kosamaras,’ the Harbinger of Madness. She is behind all of the balls, the nightmares, and the apparitions.
