Summary

In Chapter 16, Ruhn lied on his bed, high from smoking mirthroot. He woke up when Bryce entered his room. Ruhn was surprised because Bryce had not been in his house since she was 16. Bryce walked through the house to get Ruhn a glass of water. She spoke with Ruhn’s friends, Tristan Flynn and Declan Emmet, who were also intoxicated. She asked Ruhn about the Viper Queen, who was in charge of the area where Maximus died. She explained the connections between Maximus’ and Danika’s deaths. Ruhn tried to convince Bryce to stay out of the investigation and not look for the Viper Queen, but she was determined to find the murderer. Bryce left and met Hunt, who was waiting outside. Ruhn stood in front of Hunt’s car. He did not want Hunt to be the one to watch over Bryce...
