Finn’s Map
For Joe, Finn's map represents their friendship and their connection. When he initially learns about it, Joe believes that the fact that his address was on the map suggests that Finn was planning to contact him in an attempt to work through whatever it was that led him into the situation where his life ended. There is a sense of trust about what Joe believes the map represented to Finn.
Finn’s Duffel Bag
The duffel bag represents Finn's secret life, the life that Joe becomes increasingly surprised by and upset about. This symbolic value is enhanced by two factors - its color (black often being perceived as the color of the unknown, and of mystery) and what the narrative eventually reveals to be its contents and purpose (transporting drugs).
