Summary
Chapter 39. After ducking into a mall to pick up some fresh clothes, Joe and Barack head down to where the voice told Joe to wait, both speculating on who the person might be. Barack hangs back while Joe heads for the rendezvous, and is not terribly surprised to find himself face to face with Abbey – who, he realizes, had been wearing a wig in their earlier encounters. As they head for a quiet and more private place, Joe wonders what information the very youthful Abbey might have for him, and why she is putting her job on the line by talking to him. She tells him it is just the right thing to do.
Chapter 40. After telling Joe part of the story of how she became a private investigator specializing in insurance fraud, Abbey tells Joe what she has learned about Finn...
