Summary
Chapter 20. The next morning, Joe and Barack get ready to resume their investigation, with Barack having had his suit freshened up at a nearby cleaner’s, and Joe struggling to navigate on his bad knee. They decide to keep the truth of what they are doing secret from their wives, with Joe feeling uncomfortable about lying to Jill when he calls her. Meanwhile, he notices that he has received a middle-of-the-night phone call from someone who did not leave a message. He and Barack are stepping out of their hotel room door when they see Steve, there with Barack’s vehicle, the security-laden Little Beast.
Chapter 21. While getting a fast-food breakfast, Joe receives a phone call from the same number that had called in the night. The caller is The Mayor, who tells him that Finn had stopped coming to their card games...
