Summary
Chapter 11. Joe is dropped off at home, resentful at being watched on his way in by Barack and Steve. He takes off his dirty suit with intentions of taking care of his rapidly swelling knee, but is stopped by the sight of a blinking light on his phone, indicating that he has voice mail. When he checks the message, he learns he has been called by Lieutenant Esposito, Capriotti’s boss. When he calls her back, she tells him to leave Capriotti alone, and to call off the Secret Service investigation, which she sees as interference. Joe keeps to himself the fact that the Secret Service is involved not at his request but at Barack’s, telling Esposito that in future, any Secret Service investigation will go through her, and not through Capriotti.
