Hannah Bellinger
Piper Bellinger is the 26-year-old heroine of the novel. She was born in Westport, Washington. Her father, Henry Cross, was a fisherman. When he drowned at sea, she was just two. Her mother took her and her older sister, Piper, to Los Angeles, where she married a wealthy Hollywood producer. Hannah loved music more than anything else, so she went to UCLA and majored in Music History. After graduation, she wanted to work as a music coordinator on films. However, she did not want to use her stepfather’s connections, so she started working as a production assistant for Sergei, an independent director from Russia. She developed a massive crush on him, but he seemed oblivious to her.
When Piper got sent to Westport for being arrested, Hannah decided to join her sister in exile because she felt so bad for her. She temporarily left her job...
