"Solidarity is Still for White Women" - In 2013, Mikki started #solidarityisforwhitewomen to note that mainstream feminist calls for solidarity center on the concerns of white middle-class women. Despite accusations of divisiveness, Mikki believes that feminism needs to address internal issues such as racial discrimination and transphobia. She also argues that discussions of feminist issues need to account for how these issues impact people in diverse socioeconomic situations in different ways. Mikki is against respectability politics which perpetuates the idea that only some women deserve respect or protection. Feminism needs to recognize that not all women are facing the same problems.
