Summary
In Chapter V the narrator informs the reader that nine years after his incident in Scranton, he would become rich through his dealings with a person named Riaz. The narrator describes being introduced to Riaz Rind, the founder of a Wall Street hedge fund, in 2012. A play that the narrator has written is generating buzz in New York. Riaz comes into a bootleg copy of the script. He contacts the theater and offers to pay exorbitant amounts of money for two tickets and a backstage visit. At the performance, the narrator meets Riaz backstage.
