Summary

Chapter 7 opens with Dicey coiling up ropes for the circus to make the next move. Will says it is time to take the children to Crisfield. Dicey hates the idea of saying good-bye to these people but they gather their things and set out with Will driving Claire's station wagon. Will says he wants to take them all the way to Abigail's house to ensure they are alright. Dicey convinces him to drop them in Crisfield, allowing them to make the rest of the journey on their own. She cites the fact that a priest visited Abigail who screamed to keep from hearing his message about the children. Will says they will be nearby for a few days of rest. Dicey promises to come to him if they find themselves in trouble. When Dicey wants to know how he might help them...
