Summary
From Annabelle Rosenmerck to Harry Rosenmerck – New York, September 3, 2009. Annabelle tells Harry that he is right that the family should not tell each other important things over the phone. She tells him a few truths: that Monique is alone and in bad shape; that David has disappeared without a word; and that she is pregnant. She sends him a sonogram. “That’s the other truth that I kept silent in Israel and over the damned telephone” (135). She then says that Monique sometimes gets better from just touching her stomach.
