Summary
In Chapter 25, Virgil and Jenkins try to figure out what to do next as Apel has an alibi, but they still believe that he is involved in the crimes. Then, Ann, Apel’s wife, comes home and discovers what is going on. Later, Apel goes to the shop of Ann’s best friend, Trudy, and gets her to tell him that Ann was sleeping with Glen. Then he finds out that Ann told Trudy that he and Ann were divorcing and that they no longer slept together. He denies everything. He tells her not to tell Ann about their conversation because, if she does, Ann might kill her like she has killed the others. Afterwards, Davy goes to Skinner & Holland and tells Virgil, Jenkins, Skinner and Holland that he thinks that Ann committed the crimes. Skinner admits that he never thought of women...
