Summary

In Chapter 23, set March 27, 2021, When Barbara arrives at Olivia’s house, Olivia admits that she submitted seven of Barbara’s poems for The Penley Prize for Younger Poets. Barbara is surprised, but not angry. She asks if Olivia and Marie are concerned about what they did because Barbara’s work was rejected. Olivia says that Barbara’s name is on the longlist of 95 finalists.

To be considered further, Barbara is asked to submit more of her poems. Olivia says the prize is $25,000 and the winner’s work is published. Olivia warns Barbara it is unlikely she will win, but she will gain attention if she is part of the shortlist.

In Chapter 24, set July 26, 2021, Holly calls Penny to share her suspicion that Bonnie might have been abducted. Penny asks Holly to find the person who took Bonnie regardless of the cost. Holly feels...
