Summary
Chapter 24 is subtitled “S.T.: Staring Blankly at a Bald Eagle, Seattle, Washington, USA.” S.T. reluctantly climbed onto the eagle’s back, leaving Dennis behind. As the eagle soared, S.T. realized how much he had missed flight. Other birds were flying with them, including the sparrow he had rescued and Ghubari, a parrot he had known back when Big Jim was healthy.
Ghubari shared his story of survival. Neera, the wife of Ghubari’s owner, Rohan, went to the hospital after she developed a strange sickness. All was chaos at the hospital, and deformed people raged out of control. One man ate his own foot. Two armed men grabbed Neera when she got aggressive.
