Jack Gantos is the author of the book, and the subject of this autobiography. Gantos is now a popular children's author, but this harrowing story is not for children. Gantos recounts his decisions as a young man that land him in a federal prison. Gantos is a decent young man, although his priorities are certainly questionable.
