Summary
In “The Week After,” Libby is surprised how disappointed she feels when she sees that she did not make the Damsels. Later that day, Libby finds a letter in her backpack. It reads: “You aren’t wanted. (I told you so.)” (296). That day in the hallway, Jack walks past her like she is invisible. She believes she is one more person he cannot see.
In Jack’s section, Jack asks his mother if she and his father are going to get a divorce. Even though she does not say that they are, he asks her to promise that they will not stay together for the children because his mother deserves better than that.
