Check

On the day he disappears, Uncle Fred is having a minor argument with the garbage collection service. Uncle Fred wants a refund for a day the company missed picking up his garbage, but they have no record of him as a customer in their computer. Fred was to return to the company with a check proving his payment, but disappears before arriving. Later Stephanie realizes that the check was cleared through a local bank rather than the large bank the garbage company uses.

Grand Union is a grocery store in Trenton. Uncle Fred left his car in the parking lot of Grand Union with the dry cleaning neatly placed in the back seat.
